Freshmen – New to Blue Orientation
New to Blue is MTSU’s multi-phase new student orientation, which guides new business students through academic planning, resources, and campus connections for a successful first year.
Freshmen who receive admission for Spring 2026 complete both virtual and in-person components:
After you sign up for the December 12, 2026, on-campus orientation, you’ll receive an email with instructions for the pre-orientation course. Complete all units at least four days before arriving. The course includes the Jones College pre-advising workshop, so no separate appointment is needed.
Freshmen attend a full-day on-campus orientation. In the afternoon, Jones College students and their guests join a presentation with the dean and advisors. At check-in, students receive The Blue Portfolio with their advisor assignment and a suggested course list. After the dean’s presentation, guests meet in the Student Union while students go to the BAS computer labs for advisor meetings and course registration.
