Transfer – New to Blue Orientation
New to Blue, MTSU’s multi-phase new-student orientation guides Jones College Business students through academic planning and resources.
Students accepted for the summer and/or fall terms complete both of the following components:
Once you use your PipelineMT account to sign up for your on-campus or virtual orientation day, you receive an email granting you access to the New to Blue pre-orientation course in your Canvas account. This course consists of units that must be completed prior to your orientation day. Academic advising and course registration occur on your orientation day. There is no need to schedule a separate advising appointment.
Your advisor is assigned to you a few days before your virtual orientation day. They will email you all the necessary advising information and the virtual meeting link at least 24 hours prior to your chosen day.
Please plan to block your entire morning for this meeting. Even though the meeting is virtual, it is synchronous and happens in real time. If you have a scheduling conflict, please contact the New Student and Family Programs Office to reschedule for a different day.
Jones College of Business students and guests attend a presentation by academic advisors. At the session check-in, students receive a personalized package with their advisor assignment and a suggested list of courses. After the presentation, guests will be guided to a new session in the Student Union. At the same time, students break up into advising groups, meet their advisor, and register for classes in the BAS Computer Lab.
Jones College advisors are assigned to their new students a few days before orientation. The advisor will reach out to each student via MTSU email within 24 hours of their orientation day.
